Kathmandu, Nepal, February 1, 2021: coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country advances to 271,118 after 159 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the total newly infected cases, 61 are females while 98 are males.
Likewise, the MoHP has also stated that 85 new cases surfaced in Kathmandu Valley alone in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal, has been hosting the highest number of active cases since the virus detected in the country.
Similarly, 264 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours.
With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 266,600.
Interestingly, no fatalities from the coronavirus were recorded in the past 24 hours. Death toll due to the infection of coronavirus had reached 2,029 by Sunday.
Currently, there are 2,489 active cases across the country. Of them only 97 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
