Kathmandu, Nepal, May 24, 2022: The ruling head Nepali Congress has emerged as the largest party in the local level election held on May 13, 2022 though final result is yet to be announced.
As of the late night on Monday, the vote count of the local election has been over in 734 out of 753 local bodies. The results of 19 local units including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Bharatpur, Birgunj remain to be announced.
According to the latest updates, Nepali Congress was won the election in 321 local bodies while the main opposition CPN-UML has become second by wing in 200 local bodies.
Likewise, CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), CPN (Unified Socialist) and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) win in 120, 29, 19 and 15 local bodies respectively.
Though the Election Commission had stated that the final results of the vote counting will be available by May 24, it would not possible the deadline.
