Kathmandu, Nepal, June, 28, 2019: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has on Friday warned the government not to act against of the democracy and rule of law. 

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu, NC President Deuba, who s also the leader of the main opposition, also challenged to overthrow the government if it continuously attacked the country's democracy.

As Nepali Congress is the party that fell the Rana regime and the Panchayat System to establish the democracy in the country, it will take no time to repeat the same history to overthrow the incumbent communist government, he said.

During his address, he also urged the government to withdraw the controversial Media Council Bill. As the Bill goes against the press and individual freedom, the NC won't let the bill pass, he said.

At the same function, another senior leader of the party Ram Chandra Poudel also lambasted the government for involving in the controversies and corruption scandals.
