Kathmandu, Nepal December 7, 2021: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that his party would not show of strength by bringing people from across the country in the upcoming 14th general convention.

The NC is not in favor of bringing in huge crowds in the inaugural session of the general convention, Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister said while talking to media persons covering the Nepali Congress beat at his official residence in Baluwatar on Monday.

Owning to the threat of coronavrius infection, the Nepali Congress will not show of strength during the inaugural session of the general convention, Deuba said. The Nepali Congress is going to convene its 14th general convention from December 10 to 12 in Kathmandu. 

During the function, he also announced to file his candidacy to the post of party President once again. As the party’s statute allows me to file candidacy to the post of party president, I will do so, Deuba said even urging the media persons for support. 

It would be beneficial not only the Nepali Congress but also the incumbent coalition government if I reelected as party president, Deuba claimed. 

During the function, he also said that the electoral alliance among the ruling coalition partners would be only for the elections to the member of the National Assembly.
