Kathmandu, Nepal, May 2, 2020: secretariat meeting of the ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) held at official resident of prime minister KP Sharma Oli on Saturday evening ended with the decision to hold a standing committee meeting on May 7 in Kathmandu.
The secretariat meeting has become success to settle the internal rift now. Both the rival factions have agreed to move ahead by realizing the mistaken made during the past, NCP spokesman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said revealing about the secretariat decision.
As vice president Bam Dev Gautam stand in favour of Prime minister Oli to keep intact in the post, the voice raised by the dissident leaders to resign prime minister Oli on moral ground failed to endorse from the secretariat meeting.
As of the proposal put forth by the Prime minister Oli to present Gautam as the candidate of the next prime minister, the secretariat meeting has alao decided to elect Gautam as the member of federal parliament to pave the way to elect him in the post of prime minister. However, the meeting has not made decision about the process to elect as member of the federal parliament.
