Kathmandu, Nepal, May 12, 2021: Nepal's coronavirus infection tally has advanced to 431,191 after 8,842 new cases reported from across the country in the past 24 hours on Thursday.
Likewise, 214 deaths related to the coronavirus infection have been reported from across the country in the past 24 hours on Thursday. With the addition, nationwide fatalities related to the coronavirus infection tally advanced to 4,466.
 
Of the total infected cases reported in the past 24 hours, Kathmandu district alone recorded 2,733 cases while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 481 and 348 cases respectively. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 8,842 new cases were reported while conducting 20,245 total tests in different labs across the country in the last 24 hours. Of which 19,474 were through PCR tests while 771 were from antigen tests.
 
Likewise, 5,055 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 321,518.

There are currently 105,207 active cases across the country. Of them, only 497 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
