Kathmandu, Nepal, January 25, 2020: Coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 269,789 after 339 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. Among them, 133 are females while 206 are males.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 154 new cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley alone. The Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal, has been hosting highest number of active cases since few months.
Likewise, 401 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 264,538, which is equivalent to 98.1 percent.
Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coroanvirus has advanced to 2,011 after ten more fatalities related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours from across the country.
There are currently 3,240 active cases of coronvirus across the country. Among them, only 132 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
According to the MoHP, 4,858 PCR tests were conducted in different labs set-up across the country in the last 24 hours. With the addition, total PCR tests conducted so far has advanced to 2,048,113.
Globally, over 99.5 million people have been infected by the coronavirus while 2.13 million people have lost their lives.
