Kathmandu, Nepal, December 14, 2020: Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country has advanced to 249,244 after 821 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) 821 new cases were confirmed positive of virus while conducting 5,423 PCR tests in the last 24 hours. As of now, 1,836,464 PCR tests have been carried out in the country till date.
Of the newly infected cases, 317 are females while 504 are males. Of the newly infected cases, 333 were surfaced in Kathmandu Valley alone, the MoHP has stated. The capital city of Nepal has been recording highest number of active cases since the past few months.
Likewise, 842 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 236,573.
Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 1,716 after eighteen more fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 10,955 active cases across the country. Out of them, only 471 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across the country.
