Kathmandu, Nepal, October 17, 2020: coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 251,692 after 776 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. 


Of them, Kathmandu valley alone records 363 new cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 776 new cases were recorded while conducting 6,588 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests across the country in the past 24 hours.  

With the addition, 1,855,724 PCR tests have been carried out till date in the country. 

There are currently 9,580 active cases across the country. Of them, 444 people are under quarantine in various facilities across the country. 

Likewise, 947 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after they recovered in the past 24 hours.  With the addition, recovery tally of the country has advanced to 240,363.

Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coroavirus advanced to 1,749 after six deaths related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours.
