Kathmandu, Nepal: The government has come heavily against the syndicate imposer transport entrepreneurs, particularly its leaders for halting the operation of public vehicles on the name of protest against the government decision to cancel the syndicate system in the country. 

With the arrest of the some leaders of the transport entrepreneurs’ committees, the government has initiated process to investigate the property of the arrestees and others leaders on the guess that they would have earned illegally through the means of imposing syndicate system in the public transport sector. 

According to a source at the Ministry of Home ffairs (MoHA), it has directed the concerned authorities on Friday to freeze bank accounts of transport entrepreneurs as part of beginning of investigation of their properties. 

Earlier, Nepal Police had arrested some leaders of the Transport Entrepreneurs Association (NNTEA) including its vice Chairma Jeewan Banjade and General Secretary Saroj Sitaula. It is said that Nepal Police have also been intensified its search operations against other leaders of the transport entrepreneurs’ committees. 

The NNTEA, the umbrella organization of different transport entrepreneurs, halted operation of public vehicles on the name of protest against of the government decision to cancel the syndicate system.
