Kathmandu, Nepal: The Government of Nepal has on Thursday formed the Constituency Delimitation Commission (CDC) under the chairmanship of former Justice of the Supreme Court (SC) Kamal Narayan Das on Thursday.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday afternoon at Signhdurbar made the decision.
In the CDC, Madhav Adhikari, Bishwa Kalyan Parajuli and Ganesh Raj Karki are named as the members while Yogendra Sharma Paudel as Secretary
The CDC has to present its report within 21 days regarding the number of constituencies in the country.
Constitutionally, the CDC should be formed to determine the number of constituencies before the national and provincial elections.
The government has to hold the provincial and national elections by January, 2018.
As the government had not shown concerns to for the CDC, the Election Commission EC) had repeatedly urged the government to form the Commission without any further delay.
