Kathmandu, Nepal: It is likely that the government would announce the date for the local level elections on Saturday. 
 
According to the multiple sources, the government is preparing to announce the date for the local level elections amid a function to be organized on Saturday at the office of the election commission to mark the Election Day.
 
The election commission used to mark the Democracy Day as the Election Day on Falgun 7. The date, Falgun 7, deserves the historic value in the history of Nepal as democracy was established first time in Nepal by overthrowing the Rana regime. 
 
The election commission is going to mark the day with much more fanfare with the expectation that the government would announce the date for the local level elections from the same function.
 
The election commission has invited President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leaders of major political parties in to held Election Day function.
 
It is said that the government has also already signaled to announce the polls day from the function. 
 
According to a reliable source close to the office of the Prime Minister and council of ministers, May 15 is said to be the date that will be announced for the first phase local election. 
 
The elections commission plans to conduct the election in two phases if the different of 15 days.
