Kathmandu, Nepal, May 11, 2020: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has on Monday handed a letter of protest to Indian through its Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra over the boundary issues, particularly the construction of road by India at Kalapani area.
During a meeting with Indian ambassador Kwatra held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the foreign minister Gyawali handed a letter of protest by conveying Nepal government’s position on boundary issues.
Foreign Minister Gyawali conveyed Government of Nepal's position on boundary issues to Ambassador of India to Nepal Kwatra at a meeting held at MoFA today and handed over a diplomatic note in this regard, reads the message posted on Twitter account of MoFA.
As Indian government inaugurated a strategic link road connecting Dharchula of the Indian State of Uttarakhand and the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) of China via the Lipulekh Pass, not only the government but also the different political parties have objected the move.
