Kathmandu, Nepal, March 16, 2019:  With the government’s decision to ban the Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), the former one has intensified its search operation to the latter’s leaders and cadres from across the country. 

Meanwhile, Nepal Police have arrested CPN’s politburo member Mohan Karki ‘Jivanta’ from his Lalitpur based rented room on Friday night. However, the Lalitpur district police office has not officialy confirmed about the arrest of Jivanta. He was also arrested earlier, but released from the court’s order. 

The Ministry of Home Affairs has already instructed the security agencies to arrest the leaders and cadres of the party.   It is said that the Nepal police have move forward with the plan to arrest CPN’s senior leaders including its coordinator Chnda and another senior leader Prakanda.  

Likewise, the NCP has also intensified its activities, particularly its money extortion drive across the country particularly in the western hilly districts in the name of launching ‘people’s war.’
