Kathmandu, Nepal: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured that the government will bring out the facts by investigating over the issue of illegal money deposited in the Swiss banks.
Answering the questions raised by lawmakers on Friday, Prime Minister Oli said adding that Nepali nationals cannot stash away money in foreign banks.
As stashing away money in foreign banks is against the law of the country, the government will investigate to bring out the facts, Prime Minister Oli said in the parliament without elaborating about the timeframe.
The Center for Investigative Journalism (CIJ) had revealed that as many as 55 Nepali people have stashed away Rs 52,072,773,000 (52 billon, 72 million, 773 thousand) in Swiss banks.
Not only the lawmakers from the opposition party but also the government head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) demanded that the government has to investigate the money deposited illegally by Nepali people in the Swiss Bank.
