Kathmandu, Nepal, March,25, 2019: Main opposition Nepali Congress’s parliamentary party meeting is called for today to hold discussions on contemporary national political issues including the controversial Security Council Bill.


The meeting, which is going to take place at the NC parliamentary party office, Singhdurbar, is called to take decisions against of the government’s plan to keep the National Army under the preview of the Prime Minister.

The main opposition Nepali Congress and other opposition parties including the concerned security experts have been protesting the government’s bid to keep the National Army under the preview of the Prime Minister. As the government has prepared the bill, the opponents have termed the government’s plan to authoritarian regime in the country. 

The government has prepared a Security Council bill allowing the Prime Minister to independently mobilize Nepal Army through cabinet decision in the case of a national emergency.
