Dharan, Nepal, December 2, 2019: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Tilak Rai has been elected as the mayor of Dharan sub-metropolitan city on Monday.
In the by-elections hed on Saturday, Rai garnered a total of 26,709 votes while his nearest rival ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) candidate Prakash Rai got just 23,914 votes.
Similarly, in the elections held for the ward chair of Ward, 7, Jiwan Raj Subedi of the NCP has been elected in the post.
