Kathmandu, Nepal: The Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party in the parliament, has strongly condemned the government for using excessive force against the peaceful demonstration launched by the party on Saturday. 

As Tarun Dal, the youth wing of the Nepali Congress, had organized a demonstration in New Baneshowr, Kathmandu, police had intervened the demonstration leaving about four dozens cadres injured.  

Police had fired dozens ells of tear gas to disperse the mob move forward towards the prohibited areas declared by the government.   
 
According to the party spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma, over four dozen leaders and cadres including Tarun Dal President Jeetjung Basnet, NC Lalitpur district President Madan Amatya and Nepal Press Union general-secretary Ajay Babu Siwakoti were injured in the incident. 

The youth wing of the Nepali Congress had organized the demonstration demanding immediate solution of the hunger strike launched by senior Dr. Govinda KC demanding reform in the medical education sector. 
The Nepali Congress has already declared protest program against the medical education bill, price hike and others. 

Meanwhile, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel reached the hospitals, where the injured cadres were admitted, to inquire about the health condition.
