Kathmandu, Nepal, February 16, 2020: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has accused the incumbent Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led government of failing to live up to the people's expectations in the past two years since it came to power.
Organizing a press meet at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Sunday, Nepali Congress spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma also accused the government of pushing the country toward lawlessness and authoritarianism.
The main opposition Nepali Congress has accused the government just a day after the Prime Minister Oli claimed that the government has made tremendous progress by achieving the goals set by the incumbent government. Prime Minister Oli had addressed the parliament on Saturday to highlight the achievements of the government during the two year tenure of the government.
However, the main opposition Nepali Congress has a reading that the government has failed to live up to the people's expectations in the past two years since it came to power. The government missed good opportunity to steer the country toward stability and prosperity in this period, NC spokespersons Sharma said adding that incumbent Oli government has been a total failure in every sector.
The government has failed to demonstrate a result-oriented nationalism through meaningful diplomacy and high-level political effort despite unity across the political spectrum, Sharma said even accusing the government of indulging in the corruption.
Being the responsible opposition Nepali Congress extended full support to the government to conduct the good works including the border encroachment issue but it failed to resolve, Sharma said.
