Kathmandu, Nepal, August 23, 2022: Nepali cricket team has left for the East African nation, Kenya to play a five-match Twenty20 International Series and two One-Day games. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bid farewell to Nepal national cricket team amid a function on Monday.
Nepal is playing a five-match T20I series and three One Day matches against Kenya starting on 25th August. It is said that 1st T20I will be held on August 25, 2nd T20I on August 26, 3rd T20I on August 28, 4th T20I on August 29, 5th T20I on August 30. Similarly, 1st One Day match will be held on September 2, 2nd One Day match September 3 and 3rd One Day match on September 5.
In the farewell program CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand and other office bearers including head coach Manoj Prabhakar were also present. This will be the first series for the newly appointed Nepal men’s cricket team ahead of the coach Prabhakar.
Nepali cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane is leading the side in T20Is whereas vice Captain Rohit Paudel is set to lead the team in 50-overs matches. It is said that captain Lamichhane will fly to Carrabian to participate in Carrabian Premier League (CPL), which is scheduled for 31st August after completing the T20I series.
Nepali Squad include as captain Sandeep Lamichhane, Rohit Paudel, Aasif Sheikh, Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee, Dev Khanal, Adil Ansari, Karan KC, Gyanendra Malla, Sompal Kami, Basir Ahmad, Arjun Saud, Pawan Sarraf, Sahab Alam, Kishore Mahato and Bivek Yadav.
