Kathmandu, Nepal, April 6, 2022: A Nepali peacekeeper deputed in peacekeeping mission in Congo has died of bullet injuries on Tuesday. According to Nepal Army peacekeeper Anil Gurung, who is a permanent resident of Surkhet, died in the course of treatment. 


Nepal Army has stated that in a press statement that he was sustained of bullet injuries fired by the local rebel forces in Congo on April 6, 2022.  It is said that he breathed his last while receiving treatment at Level 2 Hospital in Bunyan. 

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the United Nations has strongly condemned an attack by suspected militia members on peacekeepers serving in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
