Kathmandu, Nepal, August 19, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus infection (COVID-19) tally has reached to 28,938 after 681 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours on Wednesday.
Among the newly identified cases of coronavirus, 159 were from Kathmandu valley alone.
Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) informed during a regular press briefing that 134 were in Kathmandu, 17 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur districts.
681 new cases were recorded while conducting the tests of 11,522 swab samples through PCR method throughout the country in the last 24 hours.
With the new records, there are 11,118 active cases of infection have remained in the country while 13,571 people are under quarantine.
Likewise, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 120 after six persons died in the past 24 hours due to the infection of the virus.
