Kathmandu, Nepal, October 21, 2020: Coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 254,514 after 742 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly infected cases, 448 were males while 294 females. 

742 new cases were recorded while conducting 6,351 real time polymerase tests in the past 24 hours, the MoHP has stated. 

Of the total 742 new cases in the country, 311 new cases of the coronavirus infection were recorded in Kathmandu valley alone. Of them, 235 were in Kathmandu, 55 in Lalitpur and 21 in Bhaktapur district.

Likewise, 1,079 people, who were tested positive of the virus in the past, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 244,743.

Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus advanced to 1,795 after seven deaths related to the virus reported in the past 24 hours.
