Kathmandu, Nepal, July 20, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally has reached to 17,844 after 186 new cases indentified in the past 24 hours on Monday.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, testing of 4,216 samples through PCR method across the country confirmed 18 new cases in the last 24 hours.
During a regular press briefing, spokesperson for the Ministry Dr Jageshowr Gautam also said that 173 people, who were previously tested positive for the coronavirus, have been discharged from health facilities across the country in the past 24 hours after recovery. With the new recovery cases, total number of recovery cases has reached 11,868 in Nepal.
The province wise recovery cases stood as 752 from Province 1, 2,697 from Province 2, 451 from Bagmati Province, 1,004 from Gandaki Province, 3,771 from Province 5, 1,522 from Karnali Province and 1,671 from Sudurpaschim Province.
Likewise, out of 5,936 active cases of coronavirus across the country, 93 in Province 1, 1,933 in Province 2, 399 in Bagmati Province, 384 in Gandaki Province, 410 in Province 5, 299 in Karnali Province and 2,418 in Sudurpaschim Province, spokesperson Dr. Gautam said during the press conferennces.
Seven districts namely, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Bhojpur, Panchthar, Manang and Mustang have no active cases of coronavirus while Rautahat, Kailali and Bajura districts have over 500 active cases of coronavirus.
Likewise, death-toll from the coronavirus infection has stands at 40.
