Kathmandu, Nepal May 23, 2022: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined by 34.21 points and closed at 2,200.88 points in the first trading day of the week on Monday. This loss of is 1.53 percent.  

The NEPSE index had also lost by 15.82 points on Friday, the last trading day of the last week. Monday’s index is the lowest points in 17 months.  

The NEPSE index that was opened at 2,241.26 points made intraday high at 2,249.62 points and intraday low at 2,191.03 points before closing at 2,200.88 points. 

A total of 3,917,655 shares were exchanged amounting to Rs. 1.369 Arba in the turnover amount via 28,506 transactions. This is higher than last trading day's turnover amount of Rs. 92.94 crore.

Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBSL) gained the highest by 6.2 percent while the Mithila LaghuBitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBBL) lost the highest by 5.89 percent.

Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) made the highest turnover of Rs. 4.15 crores while the shares of Sanima Equity Fund (SAEF) traded the most.

All the 13 sector indices closed red. Life insurance sector lost the highest by 2.62 percent.
