Kathmandu, Nepal, December 22, 2022: Newly elected members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have been administered oath of office and secrecy amid a function organized at Federal Parliamentary Building at New Baneshowr on Wednesday. 

Senior-most (by age) RoR member Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana administered the oath of office and secrecy. To administer the oath, Rana had taken oath before President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.

The Article 88 of the Constitution has made a provision that every member of each House of the Federal Parliament must take an oath as provided for in the Federal law before taking part for the first time in the session of the House or any of its committees.

 Some HoR members reached the Federal Parliament Building on national uniform and respective cultural attires to take oath. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, 26 members took oath in different 14 mother tongues.
