Kathmandu, Nepal: Yagya Raj Panta, father of rape and murder victim Nirmala Panta, has been receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for mental health.
He was brought to Kathmandu for treatment after he developed mental disorder along with physical illness on Sunday under influence of sedative. He was denied boarding a flight from Dhangadi Airport on Wednesday showing the reason of mental illness.
Yagya Raj showed signs of mental illness while he was in the sit-in protest demanding that those who raped and murdered his daughter be nabbed and brought to justice immediately.
Right activists including the parents of Nirmala had been taking part in an indefinite sit-in in front of the Kanchanpur District Administration Office for 14 days. The sit-in- protest has been ended for now after Yegya Raj’s wife and others supports accompined him for the treatment.
