Sarlahi, Nepal, June 11, 2020: At least one Indian national died and five others sustained injuries during brief scuffle with Nepal's Armed Police Force (APF) personnel at Narayanpur border point between Nepal and India on Friday morning.

APF opened fire after a group of Indian nationals attacked the police post set up at border point of the district with stones and home made weapons at around 9:00 am on Friday. 

It is said that police forced to open fire after a group of Indian national with about one hundred in number attacked the police posts and attempted to snatch the weapons to forcefully enter in Nepal. 

The scuffle erupted after police stopped a group of Indian national who were forcefully trying to enter Nepal via the border point at around 9 am today. 

As the group of about 25 people was stopped by the police, the group had come again with about one hundred attackers to retaliate with the APF even carrying home made weapons, stones and bricks. It is said that three APF personnel have also injured due to the attack of the Indian nationals. 

It is said that the attackers were smugglers, who intend to enter in Nepal for the purpose of smuggling during the period of lockdown. 

Earlier last week, such a group of Indian smugglers had also attack the APF personnel at Simara Phenara border point between Nepal and India in Bishnu Rural Municipality of the same district.
