Pokhara, Nepal, June 12, 2021: The opposition alliance that had claimed a new government in the Gandaki province is staging demonstration in front of the provincial assembly to protest the dillydallying to form a new government.

Earlier today, Prithvi Subba Gurung, who is also the caretaker chief minister of Gandaki Province and parliamentary party leader of the CPN-UML, also laid his claim for new government even though he had lost vote of confidence during the voting on Friday. 

As Gurung loss the vote of confidence, the opposition alliance had laid claim new government under the leadership of Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader of the Gandaki province Krishna Chandra Nepali with the signature of 31 lawmakers at the evening on Friday. 

Though support of 31 lawmakers would be sufficient to claim the new government, Province Chief Sita Kumari Poudel had denied to appoint Pokhrel as Chief Minister stating that she would take decision by Saturday anly after verifying the signature of lawmakers signed. 

It is said that all 31 lawmakers are taking part in the demonstration demanding immediate declaration of new government. As the situation is getting tense, huge numbers of security personnels have been deployed in and around the provincial assembly building to thwart possible confrontations.
