Kathmandu, Nepal, December 1, 2020: Senior leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Jhala Nath Khanal, has claimed that the party would not split under any circumstance. Khanal, who is also the former Prime Minister and head of the formerly CPN UML, claimed so while speaking at program organized to lay down the foundation stone for the construction of a hospital building in Suryodaya Municipality in Ilam district on Monday.

As the rival factions of the party have moved towards the reconciliation, the statement of Khanal is taken importantly within the party’s rank and file. Khanal has been backing executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal led faction for the demand that party co-chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli should resign from at least one post. 

Someone would have waiting to take advantage from the disputes within the party, but neither the party will be split nor the recent differences of the party would remain for a long time, Khanal said referring to the recent rivalry in the party. However, he did not elaborate the process to settle the ongoing differences of the party. 

During the function, he also alleged the media for reporting over the dispute of the party. Our party is not as weak as media reports; Khanal said adding that some media are spreading wrong information about the internal issue of the party.
