Kathmandu, Nepal, December 25, 2031: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal as new Prime Minister as per the Article 76(2) of the Constitution of Nepal on Saturday.
According to a press statement issued by the Office of President on Saturday evening, the newly appointed Prime Minister Dahal will be administered oath of office and secrecy on Monday itself.
Before appointing in the post of Prime Minister, Dahal had staked claim for the new government leadership with the support of CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, Janamat Party and Rastriya Unmukti Party.
President Bhandari had served week long deadline of Sunday to stake claim the post of Prime Minister as per the provision of the constitution in support of two or more than two parties represent in the provincial assembly.
