Kathmandu, Nepal, January 23, 2022: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the number of ministries in provinces will be cut down so as to manage economic burden.
‘I have proposed to cut expenditure burden and the number of ministries of provinces,’ Prime Minister Dahal said while speaking in a meeting with a team of ministers, lawmakers and political leaders of Sudurpaschim Province led by its Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawal on Monday.
I am aware about people's complaints that administrative expenditure of provinces had increased, and their fiscal good governance was not effective due to the large number of their structures, Prime Minister Dahal said.
‘There is no necessary of ministers more than 10 percent of the total number of lawmakers in the respective provincial assembly, Prime Minister Dahal said adding as the ‘provinces themselves are autonomous and the centre cannot interfere with their authority and we do not do so either,’ Prime Minister Dahal said.
