Kathmandu, Nepal: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expanded his cabinet on Wednesday. With the expansion of the cabinet for the second time, the number of cabinet has reached 29. Following the expansion of the cabinet, the newly appointed ministers have been sworn in today itself amid a function held at Sital Niwas, the office of the President.
 
Prime Minister Deuba has expanded his cabinet by including 10 ministers from his own party, Nepali Congress, 6 from CPN Maoist Centre, 2 from Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar-led Nepal Loktantrik Forum and 1 from CPN-United. Constitutionally, at least 33 percent seats should have allocated to the women, but he has allocated space to only three female candidates in his cabinet, which is less than one percent. 
 
Among the newly inducted ministers from the Nepali Congress,  Mohan Bahadur Basnet has been appointed as the Minister for Information and Communication,  Bhimsen Pradhan as Minister for Defence,  Ambika Basnet as Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation,  Mahendra Yadav as Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation, Rajan KC as Minister for Youth and Sports, Min Bishwakarma as Minister for Commerce, Ram Krishna Yadav as Minister for Agricultural Development, Bir Bahadur Balayar as Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Yagya Bahadur Thapa as Minister for Law and Justice. 
 
Likewise, the newly inducted ministers from CPN Maoist Center includes as Giriraj Mani Pokharel as Minister for Health, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi as Minister for Energy, Santa Kumar Tharu as Minister for Livestock Development,  Tek Bahadur Basnet as Minister for General Administration, Asha Koirala as Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Development, Sanjay Kumar Gautam as Minister for Irrigation and Shiva Kumar Mandal as Minister for Supplies.
 
Similarly, the ministers inducted from the Gachhadar-led Nepal Loktantrik Forum were Gopal Dahati as Minister for Land Reforms and Management and Jeetendra Dev- as Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture. Mithila Chaudhary of the CPN-United has been appointed as Minister for Population and Environment.
