Kathmandu, Nepal, December 8, 2020: Responding to the recent protests against of the current Federal democratic republican system demanding the restoration of Monarchy system and Hindu state, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has organized an all-party meeting to discuss contemporary political issues on Tuesday
Prime Minister Oli has called a meeting of all the parties represented in the Parliament to discuss contemporary political issues at 11:00am today at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Baluwatar.
Though the issue and agendas of the meeting are not mentioned specifically, it is believed that the meeting was called to discuss over the recent nationwide strikes of pro-royalists demanding restoration of monarchy and Hindu state.
Prime Minister Oli has called the all party meeting at the time when political parties including the government head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has also been demanding discussions over the threats posed by the pro-royalists by staging protests in different parts of the country.
Leaders of the ruling NCP had demanded so during the standing committee meeting on Sunday as well. The dissident leaders including the executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had repeatedly been demanding for all party meeting to discuss on contemporary political issues.
Likewise, the main opposition Nepali Congress has also been demanding immediate call of the parliamentary meeting to discuss over the contemporary issues including the spreading threats of coronavirus (COVID-19).
