Kathmandu, Nepal, June 4, 2022: Displaced people from different countries, mostly the Rohingya refugee, staged a protest outside the United Nations Nepal office in Pulchok, Lalitpur on Monday.
Dozens of displaced people and Rohingya refugee staged the protest with placards demanding refugee status in Nepal to fulfill their fundamental rights.
Since Nepal government does not grant us the refugee status, we have deprived from exercising fundamental rights, the protesters said. Astonishing fact is here that how and why the dozens of refugees have been demanding their right in Nepal by illegally entering in Nepal.
They have a claim that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Nepal has cut off their monthly funding support. Earlier, they had staged a protest rally in front of the UNHCR office at Maharajgunj.
