Kathmandu, Nepal: The ruling allies and the agitating Rastirya Janta Party-Nepal (RJP-N) agreed to postpone the local level election in Province 2 by three months.
Though the government has not made any official decisions the leaders of the government allies and the agitating RJPN agreed to postpone the scheduled June 28 election for September 18, claims a leaders preferring anonymity.
Following a meeting with the officials of the election Commission (EC), the government allies organized a meeting with agitating RJPN at Singha Durbar with the aim to reach on consensus over the issue of differing the date for the elections. The government allies’ proposal to postpone the elections date was rejected by the EC officials.
The leaders of main opposition party CPN-UML were invited in the meeting. But no leaders were present in the meeting claiming that standing committee meeting was being held at Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur.
