Kathmandu, Nepal, August 27, 2019: The ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has imposed a ban on commenting and criticizing the party leaders over the party’s internal affairs and decisions. A secretariat meeting of the party held at its headquarters in Dhumbarahi on Monday took the decision further warning of stern action against leaders and cadres who violate the new rule.

The government head NCP has made the decision owing to the situations that leaders and cadres of the party have begun criticize each other in public forums including on the social media.

As not only the general public from different walks of life but also the leaders and cadres of the government head NCP begun to come heavily against their leaders for failing to deliver, the NCP has opted the formula of imposing ban on criticism.

Recently, party co- chairman KP Oli and secretariat member Madhav Kumar Nepal had engaged in an altercation in full view of the media. Likewise, other leaders of the party have also engaged in the altercation by using the public form and social media.

Revealing about the party decision spokesperson of the party Narayankaji Shrestha said ‘now onward, any leader or cadre of the party or sister organizations should express their dissent if any only within the party.’

The decision is made from the first secretariat meeting solely chaired by party co-chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Though the party has two chairmen, almost all the meeting used to be held under the chairmanship of Oli even though the party had decided to hold the meeting by rotating among the co-chairs of the party.

Likewise, the meeting has also decided to induct Kiran Rai, Padam Rai, Devendra Parajuli and Kalpana Dhamala to the party’s central committee. With the inclusion of three leaders, the number of the central committee of the party has reached 442 members.

Dhamala and Parajali had joined the NCP defecting then Baburam Bhattarai led Naya Shakti Party after Bhattarai decided to merge his party with Upendra Yadav led Federal Socialist Forum Nepal to form Samajbadi Party Nepal.  Similarly Rai duo had recently defected to the NCP from Netra Bkiram Chand led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN).
