Kathmandu, Nepal, February 2, 2020: After years long wrangling, finally, Bamdev Gautam has been appointed as the vice-chairperson of the ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
Central committee meeting of the party, which has concluded on Sunday, decided to elevate Gautam to the post of vice chairperson unanimously by amending the party's statute.
Party’s statute was amended just to elevate Gautam to the post of vice chairperson. The amendment of the statue also states the roles, obligations, and responsibilities of the vice chairperson in the party.
Likewise, the meeting also formed a three-member task force to give suggestions to the party secretariat regarding the controversies being surfaced over the MCC.
