Kathmandu, Nepal, January 11, 2022: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP)’s Saroj Yadav has been appointed as the chief minister (CM) of Madhesh Province.
Province Chief Hari Shankar Mishra appointed Yadav as the CM of Madhesh Province amid a function on Wednesday.
Earlier today, Yadav had staked claim for the post of CM of the province with the support of 63 members out of total 107 provincial assembly members.
UML’s 23, Janamat Party’s 13, Maoist CenterI’s seven, one each of Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Nepal Federal Socialist and two independent members including JSP’s 16 province assembly members have supported Yadav to be appointed in the post of Chief Minister.
