Kathmandu, Nepal: The Supreme Court (SC), the apex court of the country, has on Thursday ordered the government to release Coordinator of Free Madhes Alliance CK Raut on a general date.
 
A joint bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and Justice Purushottam Bhandari made the verdict to release Raut, who was arrested on the charge of acting antinational activities. 
 
Responding the writ petition, the SC has said that there is no evidence and FIR against Raut. 
 
Nepal Police had arrested Raut on October 7, 2018, on the charge of treason from Rautahat.
