Kathmandu, Nepal: Senior Advocate Dr. Surendra Bhandari has on Wednesday filed a report at the Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) claiming that he has received death threats from Supreme Court Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli.

Senior advocate Bhandari, who had defended Dr. Govinda KC in the recent contempt of court case, has also asked for security claiming that the Chief Justice (CJ) has issued repeated death threats to him via cell phone. With the report, he has also attached the cell phone number from which he had received the life threat.

The report was filed soon after Dr Govinda KC filed another report regarding Right to Information (RTI) at Kathmandu DAO. Dr. KC and his team had moved the DAO demanding information over the issue of citizenship of Chief Justice Parajuli. Dr. KC had blamed during his hearing of the contempt of court case that Chief Justice Parajuli has dual citizenship.
