Kathmandu, Nepal, May 17, 2021: Southern neighbor India has appointed its additional secretary Naveen Srivastava as its new ambassador to Nepal.
Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has stated on Tuesday that Srivastava has been appointed as next ambassador of India to Nepal.
‘Srivastava is expected to take up the assignment shortly,’ reads the press statement issued by the MEA.
The government of Nepal had already accepted agreemo of Srivastava. Indian government had proposed Srivastav as its new Ambassador to Nepal about one month ago.
Newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal Srivastava is going to succeed Vinaya Mohan Kwarta.
The post had been remaining vacant after Kwarta was appointed as the foreign secretary of the Indian government. He has already assumed the post.
