Kathmandu, Nepal, December 6, 2020: Standing Committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has begun at the party’s central office, Dhumbarahi, amid the growing factional war on Sunday.
The meeting has initiated discussion over the political document presented by the party chairman duo Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Oli before the secretriate of the party though latter skipped the standing committee meeting.
Sending a letter to the party's Standing Committee, Oli has stated that he skipped the meeting due to his reservation over the agendas and procedure of the meeting. There is no necessary to participate in the discussion in the paper presented by party’s co-chairperson Dahal, Oli has stated in the letter.
In the letter, he has also urged the standing committee members to save the party from the split. The next meeting of the Standing Committee has been scheduled for December 13.
