Kathmandu, Nepal, February 11 2020: Thakur Prasad Gyawali has been appointed as the Inspector General of Nepal Police on Tuesday. A meeting of the Council of Ministers took a decision to this effect.

The cabinet has made the decision on the basis of the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Newly appointed Inspector General of Nepal Police Gyawali is scheduled to assume his office on Wednesday. 

Gyawali succeeded Sarbendra Khanal. He got retired from the police service on Tuesday itself. Gyawali, 54, who originally hails from Pyuthan district had joined police service in 1990.
