Kathmandu, Nepal, December 5, 2022: The 11th edition of NEFTA Film Awards is going to be held in Texas, USA on coming May 27, 2023. Issuing a press statement, the organizer, Movie Technical Association (MTA) has stated to this effect.
The purpose of organizing the program in USA is to expand the market of Nepali films in the international level, Pushkar Lama, Chairman of the organizing agency said. NEFTA is going to be held in foreign land for the fifth time. Earlier, the programs were in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Qatar and Dubai.
The program is being organized collaborating with organizations such as Fame Nepal, US Khabar and Aryan Films, Chairman Lam has stated adding as it is a good sign that the Diaspora is becoming a big market for domestic films.
The award is intended to strengthen the 75-year-old diplomatic relations between Nepal and USA and to establish the award as a bridge between the two countries to explore the Nepali film, culture and market in the international market to develop Nepal as an American film shooting destination, reads the statement.
According to him, the program will be organized coordinating with Non-Resident Nepal Association and Diplomatic Mission in the USA. NEFTA is considered as one of the prestigious awards organized by the private sector in Nepal.
