Kathmandu, Nepal, September 03, 2020: The much more anticipated secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), that was scheduled earlier for 11:00 am on Thursday has been rescheduled for 3:00 pm today.

As the top leaders of the party, particularly the chairpersons  duo Pushpa Kamal Dahal and K P Oli are in consultation over the issue of selecting the name of a person to recommend as the member of the Upper House and appointment of Finance Minister, the meeting was rescheduled for 3:00 pm today, a source said.

It is said that  both the chairman have tentatively agreed to recommend party’s vice president Bam Dev Gautam as the member of the National Assembly.  With the decision, incumbent finance minister Youbraj Khatiwada will compel to leave the office from September 5, 2020.

A source close to the office claims that Prime Minister Oli has purposed to appoint party’s General Secretary Bishnu Poudel as the Finance Minister.
