Kathmandu, Nepal, July 1, 2022: The National Assembly (NA), the Upper House of the Federal Parliament, has passed three separate bills related to the budget for the next fiscal year -2022/023 on Friday.

Three bills- the Finance Bill, 2079 BS, the Bill to Mobilize National Loans, 2079 BS and the Loans and Guarantee (Twenty-fifth Amendment) Bill, 2079 BS were passed with majority of votes despite the main opposition CPN (UML) boycott the meeting.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had presented the Bills seeking approval from the Upper House. With the endorsement, the Bills have been sent to the House of Representatives (HoR) for the final approval.

The lawmakers from the main opposition UML have been boycotting the meeting of the federal parliament blaming the finance minister of manipulating the tax rates in the budget in collusion with an unauthorized person a day before presenting budget in the parliament.
