Kathmandu, Nepal, April 12, 2020: The Transparency International (TI) Nepal has raised quests over the controversial procurement process of medical equipments made by the government to contain the corona virus (COVID-19).
Issuing a statement on Sunday, the TI Nepal also urged the government and Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), the constitutional body responsible for control corruption, to investigate the alleged irregularities in the medical equipment procurement.
The TI Nepal has raised the questions mark over the controversial procurement process even demanding investigation at the time when different section of the society have also been raising question on the transparency of the entire medical procurement process.
It is reported in different media that political leadership made a failed attempt to misappropriate the state funds while procuring medical equipment by taking the advantage the sensitive period of time, reads the stamen issued by the TI Nepal.
