Kathmandu, Nepal, November 15, 2021: Transparency International (TI) Nepal has demanded proves the wealth of the Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher Rana and Supreme Court (SC) judges. Issuing a press release on Monday, TI Nepal has also demanded investigation on all issues splashed on media.
We are of the view that the wealth of all persons related to judiciary including CJ, SC justices and others should be investigated and the guilty should be penalized the TI Nepal has stated in the statement.
‘The news regarding the Chief Justice asked for a share in appointments, SC judges are boycotting the benches and Nepal Bar Association (NBA) is launching protest demanding Chief Justice Rana’s resignation have become a matters of grave concern, reads the statement issued by the Padmini Pradhananga, Chairperson of the TI Nepal.
Various study reports submitted by the Supreme Court and the NBA to TI Nepal have stated of anomalies in the judiciary including the corruption, influenced decisions, abuse of power, use of intermediaries and poor performance, reads the statement further.
