Kathmandu, Nepal, February 6, 2023: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and Chairperson of the CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also the Prime Minster, held discussion on Monday.

During the meeting held at Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in Singha Durbar, top leaders of the major three parties discussed on ranges of issues including the formation of national consensus government. Prime Minister Dahal has been parroting of national consensus government after Nepali Congress extended support to the government.

As the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has left the government, Prime Minister Dahal formally offered the Nepali Congress to participate in the government stating that participation in the government would give full sense of national consensus.

The ruling CPN (Maoist Center) and the Nepali Congress are in favor of forming a national consensus government while the CPN-UML is opposing the idea. However, modality of forming national consensus government is not revealed yet.

During the meeting Nepali Congress president Deuba praised the Prime Minister Dahal for the initiation taken to form a national consensus government. However, he denied to participate in the government.

As Nepali Congress is always in favor of national consensus, we supported the government and the support will be continue even if other parties decided to leave the government as of the RSP, Deuba said.
